POWWW’s 2019 Dragonfly Walk with Chris Ryerson

We had a great Dragonfly Walk at Jonathan’s Woods this morning led by Chris Ryerson.
Participants got to observe dragonflies and damselflies at close range and Chris gave us great insight into the lifecycles of these interesting carnivores. Thank you to our walk leaders and attendees.

POWWW‘s next free nature program is the Edible Mushroom Walk in August – https://www.facebook.com/events/2165155403552884/

I could count on one hand all of the doors I’ve photographed (excluding realtor work). This shot couldn’t be passed up.

It was clear no other person had walked around this property recently as there was scarcely a deer path to navigate the overgrowth.

This old farm property was very overgrown and difficult to see from the main road. Interestingly, this is actually state-owned open space now.

It was all fun and games until a large dark cloud came overhead and the wind picked up.

All photos taken with my typical kayaking setup which is the Tamron 18-400mm VC lens + Canon SL2.  A pretty versatile tool and portable enough for me to fit inside my dry bag.

Treefrogs are usually difficult to find if you are looking for them. Finding this frog was purely accidental and my purpose of the photograph was to show the frog’s habitat.
