As soon as I came across this scene I visualized a composition similar to the classic Death Valley imagery of Racetrack Playa.
Black Racer at Belleplain State Forest
Cape May County, New Jersey
This small-ish snake was laying in wait approximately 3 feet up from the ground. The racer kept an eye on me thought it did not flee while I setup my tripod for a few shots.
