Luckily I was the first person to hit these trails this morning and the snowfall was still pristine at the time.

Elevated Camera on Tripod for Landscape Photography

June 20, 2019 by daveblinder in 2019, canon eos m50, Landscape, Morris County NJ Nature, Nature, Photo Tips and tagged "morris county park commission", 2019, Canon EOS M50 EFS 1018mm STM Lens, dave blinder denville photographer, elevated photography tripod camera, kinnelon new jersey, landscape photography perspective distortion, NJ Hiking, photography tutorial, silas condict county park kinnelon nj | Leave a comment

Filmed at Silas Condict County Park in Kinnelon NJ. A great facility administered by the Morris County Park Commission.

This morning I was using an elevated handheld tripod technique to remove perspective distortion from my landscape photography.

It helps to have a lightweight setup and strong tripod for this technique.

I don’t recall incorporating Skunk Cabbage into many landscape images before so I was overdue. This bend in the brook was particularly lush.

Rat Snake

Pyramid Mountain Natural Historic Area, Morris County, New Jersey

This small Rat Snake entertained my macro photography for a few seconds before we both went on our ways. Rat Snakes have a reputation for being one of the most docile wild snakes in New Jersey. They help keep populations of rodents in check and I look forward to seeing them while hiking.

Tourne County Park, Morris County NJ

One of my favorite places to walk for wildlife, I have seen owls, hawks, and bears along this short stretch in the past. It is also a quick escape from the suburban sprawl of New Jersey.
