Great Basin Rattlesnake

While hiking in the backcountry we unknowingly came within a few feet of this small to medium sized rattlesnake. It watched us intently and did not rattle its tail.

This shot was taken off of Kolob Terrace Road away from the hustle and bustle of central Zion National Park. I got lucky as a passing car briefly illuminated the mountains to make this shot.

The brisk temperatures in northernmost New Jersey kept away the park visitors at High Point. I even spotted a few snow flurries during my visit.
Morning Wildlife from Oasis Visitor Center

This is one of my favorite images from my 2021 trip to Southeastern Florida. Wildlife is abundant throughout Big Cypress and there was an enormous concentration of avian life at the Oasis Visitor Center on this particular morning.
