I couldn’t select my favorite frame of this young porcupine. These shots were taken not far from the NJ/NY Stateline where porcupines are a little more common. Periodically these cool critters are seen in the Northern parts of Morris County as well.

Mama bear was largely concealed but closely monitoring us as we walked by on a trail. The cubs were fully cloaked by the forest understory.

If you happen to be hiking near an outcropping, hear ghostly hisses, and concurrently smell feces and vomit…. you have stumbled onto a vulture’s cliff nest.
This was a first for me. Never know what you will see outdoors!!
