Northern Grey Treefrog in habitat
 
Jenny Jump State Forest, Warren County NJ
 
Treefrogs are usually difficult to find if you are looking for them. Finding this frog was purely accidental and my purpose of the photograph was to show the frog’s habitat.

I hope to revisit this vista when there is a little more cloud drama. A steep trail ascent up the mountain affords quite a view from this park.

The smallest dragonfly found in NJ and not the easiest to photograph either.

Double Trouble State Park, Ocean County NJ
I consider Double Trouble “the gateway drug to the Pinelands”. The park is very close to the Garden State Parkway (exit 77) and the trails are very visitor friendly. The diversity of wildlife, plants, and scenery is quite remarkable at this gem of a natural area.

I don’t recall incorporating Skunk Cabbage into many landscape images before so I was overdue. This bend in the brook was particularly lush.

I normally walk around the pond and nature trails at Fairview for photography but this roadside opportunity was even easier to shoot. Positioning the wide angle lens close to the blossoms set the stage for a dramatic perspective.
