I’ve been researching this particular lens and would like to know now that you’ve had it for over a year or so what is your final thought on it. Is it worth the investment? I’m an amateur/newbie photographer still learning the tricks of the trade and have a Rebel T3i. Thanks!

Hi Debora – What do you want to photograph? Nature? Scenery? Portraits?

You can say a little bit of all. I’ve got three active boys in sports so would it do well in that aspect? Thanks again!

The 18-400mm is great for outdoor photography, wildlife, close-ups, etc. It might work out for sports in good outdoor light. For indoor spots photography I use lenses like Tamron 70-200mm VC 2.8 and Canon 50mm 1.8.
